Men’s Football
We have four very successful men’s football teams, competing in regular fixtures within their leagues. We also have a thriving Development team. Read on to meet the players and hear from their coaches.

“Our 1st team has had an exciting first half of the season. We currently sit top of the league in the SSFL Schools First Division and are in the Last 16 of the ESFA Schools Cup. The team has played exciting, free-flowing football, scoring lots of goals in the process. Our biggest win of the season came against Oxted School, a thumping 9-1 victory with our top scorer, Harry S, bagging four goals. Our most recent performance was an important 3-1 Cup win vs Buckswood School at home. It was a sensational display from the team, with stand-out performances from Lucas L (c) and Thabo K, causing the opposing defenders all sorts of problems. We have put ourselves in a very strong position as we enter the closing part of the season and we look forward to the challenge ahead.”

“I am really proud of the Men’s 2nd team. We have had a great season so far, the huge commitment and effort in games and training has paid off. They are currently joint top of the league and with only a few games remaining, they are looking to hold on to this spot. We’re really looking forward to the games ahead.”

“We have had a strong first half of the 2023-24 season and are currently undefeated! With a good mix of returning second years and an influx of talented first years, we have a good mix of not only technically and tactically astute footballers, but also a good mix of personalities. Notable wins have been a 5-2 victory over visiting Collyers College, and an excellent and well fought 3-2 friendly victory Hampton School 3rd XI. We have a full run in to the end of the season, but if we can maintain the level of performance we have demonstrated so far, there is no reason we can’t take the title this year!”

“Esher’s 4th team got off to a good start in their first friendly beating Godalming 6-3 before losing 4-3 in a friendly vs. Esher’s 3rd team. They bounced back with 5-2 a win vs. Merrist Wood, before losing to Woking’s 2nd team. Another 5-2 win vs. Esher’s Development team gave the boys a boost along with a 5-4 win vs. Southborough High School. Hampton School were dominant in a friendly, but the team followed this with another solid win against the Development team and a 3-0 win vs. Godalming.”
