Esher Hosts Surrey’s Largest Higher Education Fair
March is our Higher Education month at Esher Sixth Form College, as we host a series of informative events aimed at guiding students and their families through the university application process.
Our Higher Education Evening saw an impressive turnout of more than 500 parents and carers, both physically and virtually. This event was all about providing essential information about the application process for degree and art foundation courses.
We covered everything from the current higher education climate to why it’s still a very good time to apply to university. We delved into how to support your student in choosing a university and degree, the application process for university and the unparalleled support we offer here at Esher Sixth Form College throughout the entire journey.
Following the success of the Higher Education Evening, the College hosted Higher Education Day, attracting nearly 80 institutions from across Britain to the Sports Hall. Marked as Surrey’s largest Higher Education Fair, the event offered a unique opportunity for our 6.1 students to explore various academic avenues.
The day was structured to give our students a comprehensive understanding of the university landscape, featuring tutor-led lessons and talks that focused on life as a university student and the art of choosing the ideal university and course. The highlight of the event was the fair, where students engaged directly with university representatives, gaining insights into campus life and collecting valuable prospectuses.
In the evening, Esher Sixth Form College opened its doors to the general public for other Sixth Formers in the area to visit and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.
The Progression Guidance team would like to thank all attendees and contributors who helped make these events a huge success, underscoring the importance of informed decision-making in the pursuit of higher education.
