The event featured the College Jazz Band, directed by teacher of Music Technology Paul Jenkins, talented solo performers, and a special performance from a smaller jazz group called The Burrs, who captivated the audience with a song from Hamilton the Musical.

The College Jazz Band is made up of 6.1 and 6.2 students and they performed a selection of songs, including Back to Black by Amy Winehouse, My Favourite Things by John Coltrane, and All Blues by Miles Davis.

Supporting the performance was a team of first-year tech crew students, who played a crucial role in the event’s success. As part of the new Music Production Foundation Diploma course, they took on key technical roles, including:

  • Front of House Audio Engineers
  • Lighting Technician
  • Monitor Mixer
  • Drum Technician
  • Stage Managers & Mic Technicians
  • Instrument Technician

Their expertise ensured flawless sound and lighting throughout the evening, and they gained valuable hands-on experience in live event production.

The event, orchestrated by Paul Jenkins, involved weeks of preparation, including setlist curation, rehearsals, and sound checks. The hard work and dedication of both the performers and the technical team paid off with a hugely successful showcase of student talent.

A massive congratulations to everyone involved!
