Outstanding Success in the British Physics Olympiad
Four of our talented Physics students have achieved outstanding success in the British Physics Olympiad, a prestigious national competition designed to challenge and inspire the brightest young physicists in the country.

Back in October, students were invited to take part in a Preliminary Physics Challenge at college, with the highest performers earning the opportunity to sit Round 1 of the British Physics Olympiad in November. This highly demanding competition tests problem-solving skills, mathematical ability, and deep conceptual understanding of Physics, putting students through a rigorous examination process.
The results were released last week, and we are incredibly proud to announce that all four of our students achieved prestigious medal awards:
Gold – Ozzy H. and Jack J. (placing in the top 17% of participants nationally!)
Silver – Tom C. and Sonny A.
Achieving Gold, Ozzy and Jack are among the top young physicists in the country, an extraordinary achievement that reflects their dedication and passion for the subject. Tom and Sonny’s Silver awards also highlight their impressive performance in one of the UK’s most challenging school-level Physics competitions.
Physics teacher Louise Perry expressed immense pride in the students’ achievements:
“The British Physics Olympiad is an incredibly tough competition, and for all four of our students to earn medals is a testament to their hard work, resilience, and exceptional ability. We couldn’t be prouder of them.”
The British Physics Olympiad is run by the University of Oxford and serves as a gateway to further opportunities, including national and international Physics competitions.
We look forward to seeing what they accomplish next!
