In early July, a large group of nearly 50 students, accompanied by teachers Helen Humphreys, Anna Young, and Ailis Kane, spent an inspiring day at Cambridge University.

Students had the opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of various colleges, engage with Directors of Study from different courses, and converse with current students. A notable highlight was a talk and guided tour at Lucy Cavendish College, led by a current student. The tour showcased the college’s immaculate accommodation and welcoming environment, leaving a lasting impression on our students.

In addition to organising the trip, Helen and Ailis have been overseeing our Oxbridge summer programme. This initiative includes lunchtime sessions on selecting a college at Oxford or Cambridge, crafting personal statements, and preparing for admissions tests.

Ex-student Lola Bell, studying Biochemistry at Oxford, and Kit Parsons, a 6.2 student with an offer to study Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at Cambridge, came to speak to students and share their experiences.

Support for Oxbridge aspirants will continue into the summer term at Esher, with individual assistance on personal statements and subsequent guidance on interview preparation, ensuring that our students are well-prepared in their applications.
