The Performing Arts Practice BTEC students took centre stage with a dazzling showcase as part of their Showtime! project.

Demonstrating exceptional talent and creativity, the students embraced the challenge of forming their own theatre company, producing a series of performances featuring Musical Theatre pieces.

The showcase featured an impressive mix of ensemble numbers, small group pieces, and standout solo performances. Each stage of their journey, from initial rehearsals to final curtain calls, was assessed—evaluating not only their performances but also their professional skills, written submissions, and creative process. Additionally, the students produce a portfolio highlighting their hard work, dedication and achievements.

Audiences can look forward to part two of Showtime! in June, which will feature performances inspired by the legendary Bob Fosse.

A huge congratulations to all our talented performers—your hard work and passion continue to impress!

The students would like to say a special thank you to…

Claire Whittaker (Head of Music) for supporting us all with the singing, performance skills, harmonies and vocals.

Malcolm Hart (Theatre Technician & Performing Arts Co-ordinator) for the music, lighting and the wide range of costume choices.

And a very special thank you to Gail Deal (Head of Performing Arts) for helping us to put this together – we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for helping us through the ups and downs and introducing us to the very helpful talking spoon.
