Dear Parents, Carers, Students and Friends,

Our 6.2 students have now completed their final A Level and BTEC exams and assessments and we hope that they all achieve the results that they deserve. The two academic years they have spent here have passed quickly, with many achievements in both relation to their academic and personal endeavours. As always, our Progression Guidance and Examinations departments will be available post results to offer support, with more information about these services available via the website.

Our 6.1 students and their parent/carers have had a busy year so far planning for progression after Esher with a range of events taking place. The Progression Guidance team has provided excellent careers advice through Higher Education Evening, Higher Education Day, and Employment Seekers & Apprenticeship Information Evening, providing students opportunity to find out about the best option for them after Esher.

After the May half-term, our 6.1 students had the opportunity to access work experience or access our award winning ‘Internship’ online programme with much fantastic activity taking place. On After Esher Day students undertook a programme that helped them to make further progress with their Higher Education, employment, or training plans. The final week of the Summer Term for our 6.1 students is Wider Skills Week, which sees a huge range of onsite, day trip and residential activities, which aim to develop a broader set of skills.

Our competitive teams have enjoyed an exceptional end to the season finishing at the top or close to the top in their respective leagues. This is testament to their hard work and commitment and the strong sense of sportsmanship here at Esher Sixth Form College. In other sports news, from September we will be running a Specialist Football Pathway in conjunction with Platform Sports Coaching, that will offer our men’s first team the opportunity to play in a football academy league, led by UEFA coaches.

At the end of the Summer Term, we say goodbye to Liz Bentley-Pattison as Assistant Principal. Liz has contributed hugely to the continued success of the College, and we wish her all the best in her new role at the Royal College of Surgeons. Anna Mawson will be replacing Liz as Assistant Principal at the start of the new academic year.

In the summer holidays, we will see building works commence, with a new four classroom block at the front of the campus. This will provide permanent accommodation at the start of the 2025/26 academic year, which will replace the temporary classrooms at the rear of the campus.

Finally, I must make my regular mention of the Esher College Africa Trust (ECAT), the official Esher Sixth Form College charity.  Any support you can give for the Dope school in rural Zimbabwe will be much appreciated. You can find out more and donate here.

Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable summer break.
