Students Team Up with Chelsea FC at St Mary’s University
A group of 30 Esher Sixth Form College Sports Coaching and Development (Vocational) students had the exciting opportunity to visit St Mary’s University in Twickenham, where they met the team from Chelsea FC’s Foundation Coaching Degree programme.
The visit featured a combination of classroom-based learning and hands-on coaching sessions. During the classroom activities, students explored key themes in sports coaching through interactive discussions, followed by a lively Q&A session with Chelsea FC staff.
The practical element saw students participate in two themed coaching sessions led by Chelsea FC and St Mary’s sports staff. These sessions challenged students to identify different coaching characteristics and traits in action, providing a glimpse into professional sports coaching techniques.
